Synopsis

Action Bronson, a chef who became a rapper and TV host, writes about his struggles with weight and food addiction. The book is part memoir, part self-help guide, told in his own blunt, profane voice. It covers the years he spent working out how to accept himself.

It does not offer a plan for building a so-called perfect body. Bronson sets out what he has picked up over the past decade: how to build confidence, keep negativity away, stay sane and relax. The aim is to look in the mirror and want to see only yourself.

The stance is plain. Losing weight is not the goal. Feeling and being excellent at any size or shape is, and so is living healthy in a way that suits the person doing it.

The book includes color photographs. Readers get a candid, conversational mix of personal history and advice, aimed at anyone tired of diet-culture rules and ready to hear a frank account from someone who has lived with food problems.
