Seventeen-year-old Beatrice Shakespeare Smith has lived her entire life within the walls of the Théâtre Illuminata, a magical playhouse where every character ever written actually exists. When the theater's manager threatens to evict her, she must prove her worth by staging a wild, Egyptian-themed production of Hamlet. To save her home, she will have to manage a cast of literal legends and uncover the secrets of her own mysterious past.
