Synopsis

Eighteen-year-old Madeline Whittier is allergic to the world. Diagnosed as a baby with SCID — an immune disorder so severe that a single germ could kill her — she has spent her whole life inside a sealed, spotless house in Los Angeles, her days shaped by her doctor mother and her devoted nurse, Carla. Books, online classes, and her small routines are enough, or so she tells herself. Then a moving truck pulls up next door.

Olly is all in black, quick and funny, and impossible to look away from through the window. Through emails and instant messages, then careful, forbidden visits, Maddy and Olly fall for each other — and for the first time she begins to want a life that reaches beyond her own front door, no matter the risk.

Told in short chapters interwoven with charts, illustrations, and messages, Everything, Everything is a heartfelt YA romance about first love, the difference between being safe and being alive, and what a person will gamble for the chance at a real life.
