Synopsis

Riding the success of his unlikely bestselling memoir, "accidental author" Ernest Cunningham is dodging the deadline for his follow-up when the Australian Mystery Writers' Society invites him to their 50th festival — held aboard the Ghan, the famous luxury train that crosses the outback from Darwin to Adelaide. Ern hopes the trip will shake loose some inspiration. Instead, one of his far more famous fellow authors turns up dead.

Trapped on a moving train with a carriage full of crime writers — a bestselling thriller author, a forensic-pathologist-turned-novelist, a pretentious one-named literary darling, and a has-been who hasn't published in twenty years — Ern finds himself in a real locked-room mystery. The trouble is that every single suspect knows exactly how to plot the perfect murder.

A witty, twist-stacked homage to Murder on the Orient Express, Everyone on This Train Is a Suspect is the second Ernest Cunningham mystery, once again playing scrupulously fair with the reader while skewering the world of writers and writing.
