Everyone Is Lying to You is a 2025 thriller by Jo Piazza, set in the influencer economy she has spent years reporting on.

Lizzie and Bex were inseparable in college. After graduation Bex vanished without explanation. Fifteen years on she is Rebecca Sommers, a traditional-wife influencer with millions of followers watching her run a ranch, five children and a handsome husband named Gray. Lizzie is a struggling magazine writer scrolling those reels while her own kids shout for her.

When Bex calls out of nowhere offering an exclusive interview and an invitation to MomBomb, a high-profile influencing conference, Lizzie takes the career-making assignment. At the conference Bex goes missing and Gray is found murdered on the ranch.

What Lizzie finds underneath the aesthetic is the business as it actually operates: affairs, jealousy, money, and people with a great deal to lose. She has to work out who her friend became, and who she crossed, before the story closes around her.
