Everlost
Two teens, Nick and Allie, find themselves in Everlost after a car accident, a strange in-between world where lost things and people reside. While Nick finds a semblance of belonging with a group of lost children, Allie is determined to find a way back to life, even if it means facing a dangerous monster. This imaginative novel explores the boundaries of life and death.
Everlost is the first book in the Skinjacker Trilogy, followed by Everwild and Everfound. While each book has a distinct narrative arc, the overarching story and character development continue across the series.
As of my last update, there is a film adaptation of Everlost in development. It has been optioned for a movie, but specific release details or production status are not widely available.
Everlost explores themes of life, death, and what lies between, which are also central to Shusterman's Unwind Dystology and Scythe series. Readers familiar with his other books will recognize his signature blend of philosophical inquiry and imaginative world-building.
