Synopsis

Escaping Exodus: Symbiosis picks up roughly a thousand years after humanity fled a dying Earth to live inside colossal, living space creatures called Zenzee. Doka Kaleigh, an unusual male ruler in the matriarchal society aboard Parados I, has spent years working to end generations of abuse toward the Zenzee that host his people. But as he pushes reform against entrenched political enemies, he finds himself drawn to Seske, his will-wife in a marriage of convenience meant to be purely platonic. Their bond unearths uncomfortable secrets about how their civilization actually survives, while rivals maneuver to protect the old order. When disaster strikes a neighboring Zenzee, calculated politics gives way to a fight for survival that puts Doka's rule, his family, and the fragile peace with their living ship at risk.
