Jen DeLuca's Well Played (published in German as Erst auf den zweiten Blick, translated by Anita Nirschl) is the second novel in the Well Met series. Stacey has spent summers at Willow Creek's Renaissance Faire, but when her friends Simon and Emily get engaged, she's jolted into realizing she wants more than a life on pause caring for her mother.

After one wine-fueled night, Stacey sends a message to her usual no-strings summer fling as he heads off for the year — and the two grow steadily closer through months of emails and texts. But when Faire season comes back around, Stacey discovers the man she's been falling for over text isn't who she assumed he was, forcing her to reconsider what she actually wants. The novel unfolds over a full year, opening and closing with the Faire itself.
