Synopsis

Thelonius 'Monk' Ellison, a brilliant but overlooked author, struggles against the commercial demand for 'ghetto prose' until he pens a satirical parody under a pseudonym. To his astonishment, the book becomes a runaway success, forcing him to maintain the charade of his fictional alter ego. As his personal life unravels with family crises and the dark side of his newfound wealth, Monk must confront the perverse joke he's played on the literary world and himself.
