Erasing Hell

Erasing Hell
Synopsis
Written partly in response to renewed debate over universalism, Erasing Hell has Francis Chan and Preston Sprinkle examine what the Bible actually teaches about eternal judgment, working carefully through the relevant passages rather than starting from a preferred conclusion. They take seriously the emotional and moral difficulty of the doctrine of hell while arguing that Jesus's own words leave less room for a universalist reading than many wish.
The authors are explicit that they want readers to weigh the scriptural evidence themselves rather than simply accept their conclusions, and repeatedly caution against approaching the topic with detachment given what's actually at stake for real people.
