"Love is a strange thing. It takes you by surprise." A great lively adorable a-lesson-learned fiction of an old man (who only drive a Saab) realising that life is all good even without your loved one and you shouldn't kill yourself before the day itself came. A reminiscing back and forth to current of Ove's life and world according to his perspectives. A terrific view of a friendly awkward neigborhood, friendship, care and loyalty. Never knew reading about a lawn mowers and snowblower could be that intense but the story telling was done well and vivid. I love how the author still make it a fun phrasing with depressingly gloomy narratives. The author did great with each characters' development-- the sub characters especially (the two little girls are my favorite, and Parvaneh is the sweetest) which giving me so much curiosity of what's next for this human to 'ruin' Ove's days. Too much of random daily conflicts, witty and colorful. A very grumpy helpful of Ove. Love the ending (heartwarming but sorrowful, but love it!)
