Synopsis

Adam Johnson's debut collection explores compelling terrains, from an ATF raid to a busload of female cancer victims. His characters, including a lovesick Cajun girl and a post-apocalyptic bulletproof-vest salesman, seek connection and meaning in uncertain landscapes. Johnson's writing is satirical yet heartfelt, revealing the lonely isolation that binds us all.
