Synopsis

Hyam grew up an orphan and outcast, training briefly at Long Hall before being cast out under suspicion for his unnatural gift for languages. When his mother dies, she reveals the truth: Hyam may be of Milantian blood, the hated race blamed for a war that nearly wiped out the elves generations ago. Forced into a journey to seek answers from the reclusive Ashanta, Hyam is named their emissary and given authority he never asked for, drawing him into a struggle against a power that threatens the entire realm. The first book in T. Davis Bunn's Legends of the Realm series, written under his fantasy pen name Thomas Locke, blends epic fantasy with an underlying Christian allegory of redemption and calling.
