Elemental Compass

Jacob Compass is stuck in the human world, tasked with holding together a peace treaty that keeps supernaturals hidden from humans. Justice Winter ends up helping him, and she does so with great reluctance. Mostly she spends the time imagining how satisfying it would be to punch his smug, handsome face.

The two share a fey heritage, and both of them take pleasure in the fire element. Working side by side is still hard going, and the friction between them runs through every shared scene.

Their opponent is an enemy that cannot simply be killed and removed, which rules out the easy solution and keeps the pressure on the treaty. As the fight drags on, Jacob and Justice find they have more in common than they expected.

Something deeper ties the two of them together at the level of their souls, and it may take the end of the world before either one understands what it is. Full-length urban fantasy and paranormal romance, it closes out the Supernatural Prison series.
