Mariana Enríquez was born in 1973 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and holds a degree in Communication Studies from the National University of La Plata. A journalist and columnist for the newspaper Página/12, she is a leading voice of the "new Argentine narrative" and is known internationally for horror-inflected fiction that draws on Argentina's dictatorship-era trauma.
