Synopsis

Dr. Luke Bradford is beginning to feel at home in Watervalley, Tennessee, when Estelle Pillow — sister of his formidable housekeeper, Connie — announces plans to open a bakery on the town square, and Luke finds himself caught between them. His curiosity is drawn elsewhere too: a decades-old double murder near the lake, dating from the Second World War and rumored to involve a German spy. As winter turns to spring and Luke pieces together what really happened, he discovers how deeply the old tragedy still marks people he has come to care about, and what reconciliation can do for a small town.
