Synopsis

Eighteen years after Shaddam IV took the throne, the Emperor's power is quietly eroding. His wife Anirul has been instructed by the Bene Gesserit to bear him only daughters, and the Tleilaxu master Hidar Fen Ajidica is secretly manufacturing a synthetic version of the spice melange on the conquered world of Ix.
