Tracy Hickman (born 1955) is an American fantasy author and game designer. He began his career at TSR, Inc. in the early 1980s, where he designed adventure modules including Ravenloft. In 1984 he and Margaret Weis published Dragons of Autumn Twilight, the first novel of the Dragonlance Chronicles, a series they co-created and went on to expand across the Dragonlance Legends and later Dragonlance sequences.
