Margaret Weis (born March 16, 1948, in Independence, Missouri) is an American fantasy and science fiction author. While working as an editor at TSR, Inc., she partnered with Tracy Hickman to create the Dragonlance world, and the two went on to co-write the Dragonlance Chronicles, Dragonlance Legends and Death Gate Cycle novels, among other Dragonlance series. Tracy Hickman (born 1955) is an American fantasy author and game designer. He began his career at TSR, Inc. in the early 1980s, where he designed adventure modules including Ravenloft. In 1984 he and Margaret Weis published Dragons of Autumn Twilight, the first novel of the Dragonlance Chronicles, a series they co-created and went on to expand across the Dragonlance Legends and later Dragonlance sequences.
