Synopsis

A sorcerer and a doctor are forced into an uneasy alliance to find a stolen elixir that could cure a dying man, while a villainous sorcerer who believes magic should be kept from the uninitiated hunts them both — this is a classic pulp-adventure structure wrapped in a superhero skin, hence urban-fantasy and crime as the closest genre fits. The tone is tense and atmospheric rather than lighthearted, with a real sense of stakes (Wong's life) and a morally ambiguous antagonist (West) who genuinely believes he's doing the right thing, which earns dark and mysterious. Moods reflect the constant threat and the secretive, occult world Doctor Strange inhabits. Tropes: a reluctant alliance between a doctor and a sorcerer, a race against time to find the elixir, and a mentor-figure dynamic between Strange and Wong.
