I loved Kat and Sam so much. I loved how we can actually see the progress of childhood best friends to lovers through each chapter from their childhood to adulthood in each chapter. No dual timeline, just a single timeline from when they were 11 to 28!!
My heart breaks for both of them. I get it why Sam did that but I can’t help but feel frustrated when he did it. However, he redeemed himself. I also loved how the author didn’t make Kat immediately forgive what Sam did to her. It truly shows the importance of being firm with how we actually feel, instead of simply let it go just because someone apologized. It’s okay to feel angry and want to delay the forgiveness for a bit in order to heal yourself.
To see the blooming of friendship, transpiring to love, experiencing heartbreaks, mending the friendship in a single timeline is really amazing I didn’t know I needed it. The tenderness, the angst, the decade of pining for each other, chef’s kiss!!!
