Synopsis

A former intelligence officer and her brother are framed for a murder they didn't commit. Their investigation into who actually did it is the core plot — this is a courtroom-drama/legal-thriller structure wrapped in Baldacci's signature crime plotting, hence legal-thriller as the primary genre with crime as secondary. The mood is tense and gritty throughout (a murder case on the line), but also hopeful because the protagonists are fighting for exoneration against a rigged system. No romance or explicit violence/sexual content warrants those tags.
