Synopsis

Distance opens Luna Mason's Beneath the Mask series, a run of interconnected dark mafia romances centered on elite criminal families and the fighters caught inside them. Keller rose from a poor, underground street-fighting circuit to become the world heavyweight boxing champion, but behind the title he's an enforcer bound to the mafia until his debts are paid. A single deal offers a way out: unify his boxing belts. That plan gets complicated the moment Sienna, a British transplant rebuilding her life in New York after a broken engagement, lands in his path.

Sienna has sworn off men and fairy-tale endings, certain no one sticks around. Keller is determined to keep her at a distance, for her own safety as much as his freedom, but neither can fight the pull between them. As Keller's double life starts to surface, he's forced to choose between the freedom he's fought for and protecting the woman he never meant to let in. Told from both Keller and Sienna's points of view, the book leans into morally gray anti-heroes, high tension, and the mafia-romance tropes readers of J.T. Geissinger and Rina Kent look for.
