I initially was not sure that I would enjoy this book. I tend to be somewhat selective with books with wolves (iykyk). But shortly after starting it, I immediately knew this was going to be a great read.

Meryn is a strong willed FMC. I love her fiercnes, how she presents herself. I love that she knows and its not afraid to admit that while she is independent & can handle herself, that is nice to have someone else to rely on. For her, giving control over to Lee is her way of controlling what she needs.

While I love those things about her, I also wanted to smack her upside the head so many times. Anytime she felt like Anassa was ignoring her, or being cold, I internally screamed at her. If she can feel your emotions and thoughts, CLEARLY she can sense how much you resent the idea of being bonded. Like girl, think!

Despite all that, I felt engaged entirely in the story. I know I say this a lot, but it's just genuinely true; the freaking plot twist!! I had a sneaking suspicion that something wasn't right, but my mind went in the total opposite direction! I wholeheartedly believed I had figured it out, and that I was a smart cookie. Proved me wrong.

The sequel comes out next month, and it is going into my read immediately pile. If you love Fourth Wing, you will absolutely adore this series.
