Die unendliche Geschichte

When lonely, bullied schoolboy Bastian Balthazar Bux steals an old book called The Neverending Story from a bookshop, he is drawn into its pages and into Fantastica, an ancient realm being consumed by a mysterious force called the Nothing. He follows the quest of the young warrior Atreyu, sent by the ailing Childlike Empress to find a cure for both her illness and the land's destruction. As Bastian keeps reading, he discovers that Fantastica's survival depends on a human child's imagination — and that he has a part of his own still to play in the story.
