Die Julibraut concludes Monika Feth's long-running Jette und Merle young-adult thriller series, begun in 2003. Three years after strawberry-picker Georg Taban nearly killed Jette and murdered her friend Caro, Georg is behind bars and Jette believes her ordeal is finally over.

But strange messages begin reaching Jette, and her closest friends, Merle and Mike, are suddenly caught up in accidents that feel anything but accidental. As the danger escalates, it becomes clear that Georg's imprisonment has not ended his hold over her life. The novel is told from multiple first-person perspectives — Jette, Merle, Georg, and police commissioner Bert Melzig — building tension by letting the reader see further than any single character can, right up to the series' closing confrontation.
