Synopsis

Tales from Moominvalley gathers short stories set in Tove Jansson's beloved valley — the longest and only story-collection entry in the Moomin series. Its most famous piece follows Ninny, a girl so frightened by a cold, sarcastic guardian that she faded into complete invisibility; taken in by the Moomin family, she slowly becomes visible again as she's shown warmth and belonging, piece by piece, until a final flash of temper restores her face.

Alongside Ninny's story, the collection wanders through other quiet, melancholy, and whimsical corners of Moominvalley, populated by Moomintroll, Snufkin, Little My, and the rest of Jansson's gentle, philosophical menagerie. First published in 1962, it remains one of the most beloved entries in the series for adult and child readers alike.
