Synopsis

This collected-works edition gathers Angela Brazil's full output: 35 novels including A Terrible Tomboy, The Madcap of the School, and The School on the Loch, alongside her shorter fiction and her autobiography, My Own Schooldays. Brazil (1868–1947) was one of the first authors to write boarding-school stories from the schoolgirls' own point of view, as entertainment rather than moral instruction, and her books — almost all set in English girls' boarding schools — were hugely popular and influential on the genre, though also controversial enough to be banned by some headteachers of the era.

This edition is a modern digital compilation of previously scattered and often hard-to-find texts, not a single narrative work.
