Synopsis

Defy the Dusk is the first book of The Sundering Duet, a post-apocalyptic fantasy duology by Danielle L. Jensen, author of The Bridge Kingdom and the Saga of the Unfated. Del Rey describes a world fractured twenty years ago by the magic of a woman named Lirien, after which nocturnal creatures brought civilisation to its knees and the survivors took to convoys that must outrun the dusk. Lirien is abducted by Vox, king of the feralists, and given the choice of fighting the creatures that hunt the night or being fed to them. Del Rey publishes it on 3 November 2026 in hardcover, ebook and audiobook, with Penguin issuing the UK editions the same day; nothing further has been released about the book.
