Synopsis

On the eve of Waterloo, Louisa Varley finds herself penniless and abandoned, forced into a life as an actress, much to the dismay of her suitor and his brother, Lord Lyston. After the war, Louisa returns to England, only to discover she is inextricably linked to Lord Lyston's powerful family. He attempts to bend her to his will with bribery and seduction, but Louisa fiercely resists, even as she struggles to conceal her burgeoning desire for him.
