Death on the Beach

Shimmering Sands is brand new: a beachfront retirement community with a show-home penthouse and a view worth the price. Then Jessie Beckton, the realtor selling it, falls from that penthouse and dies on the sand below.

The police look at the locked door, the absence of anyone else in the apartment, and rule out foul play. Moira, Philip, Lizzie and Rick disagree. They are sure Jessie was killed — but proving it means explaining how a murderer got out of a room locked from the inside, and every person they talk to has something they would rather not discuss.

Just as the four of them start closing on a suspect, a second death sends the whole investigation back to the beginning. The third Retired Detectives Club mystery is a locked-room puzzle played out under the Florida sun by four people who are supposed to be retired.
