Synopsis

When former heroin addict Tommy Jarret is found dead from an overdose, Constable Hamish Macbeth is skeptical, especially since Tommy had recently embraced a new spiritual path. Macbeth's investigation leads him to a local New Age group, the Church of the Rising Sun, where he goes undercover to uncover the truth. As a wider drug infiltration into the Highlands is investigated, Macbeth is tasked with an even larger undercover operation, posing as a drug baron to expose a surprisingly ordinary yet dangerous criminal enterprise.
