Synopsis

Death at Greenway is a historical mystery set in 1941 at Greenway House on the River Dart in Devon — the real wartime home of Agatha Christie, then serving as a nursery for children evacuated from the London Blitz. Bridey Kelly, a disgraced nurse trainee seeking a fresh start, arrives to help care for ten young evacuees alongside a guarded, enigmatic fellow nurse named Gigi.

As Bridey settles into the rhythms of the estate — its restricted rooms, its village gossip, its wartime rationing — she begins to notice what others miss. When a body washes up on the riverbank nearby, it becomes clear this is no casualty of war but a deliberate killing, and the secrets both nurses have been keeping start to surface alongside it.

Blending real wartime history with an atmospheric, Christie-inflected whodunit, the novel won the Agatha Award for Best Historical Novel and was a finalist for the Macavity Award.
