I was very hesitant about picking up another Vampire book. The first one I read was Twilight, and that pretty much put me off the genre for years. However, I had seen a few episodes of True Blood and thus wanted to check out this book when I was looking for a fun and possibly trashy series to read.

I love all the characters in this book, which is especially rare for me. Usually I learn to hate one of the main characters, which puts me off the entire series. The plot is very engrossing as well. I really recommend this series if you are looking for something fast and enjoyable.

Spice and language disclaimer!

I rewatched the series and actually payed attention to the beginning credits where I caught on to the book series. If I had read the books first, I believe I would have enjoyed them more, however, I watched the series first.

I definitely prefer the series over the books. A book usually gives more detail, character development, and prolonged plot. In this instance, the books bypassed so many side characters and the entire plot felt rushed.
