Synopsis

In 'The Ambassador' (De Afgezant), a young woman named Sonea, once a street urchin, now serves as the Ambassador for the Magicians' Guild. She is sent to the distant land of Sachaka, a place of ancient magic and strict social hierarchies, to represent her people. As she navigates the treacherous political landscape and uncovers dark secrets, Sonea must use all her wit and power to protect her homeland and maintain peace between two vastly different cultures.

Trudi Canavan is an Australian fantasy author, born in Melbourne and raised in the suburb of Ferntree Gully. She worked as a graphic designer and for the magazine Aurealis before writing full time. Her debut, The Magicians' Guild (2001), began the Black Magician trilogy, followed by the Age of the Five trilogy, the Traitor Spy trilogy and the Millennium's Rule series.
