Dawn of Chaos and Fury is the fourth and final book of Melissa K. Roehrich's The Legacy series, published by Kensington in 2025. It is dark romantasy — new adult, high heat, with morally grey leads — and it is not a place to start; the book assumes everything the first three have done.
Tessalyn Ausra has been betrayed at nearly every turn, and has dealt out betrayals of her own. Living with what those choices cost, she is finished letting other people decide what she is for, though claiming that on her own terms may cost more than she can pay. Theon has sent her away. Luka is working out his own destiny and is no longer sure hers belongs inside it.
Elsewhere, Axel St. Orcas is pulled into a fight with something genuinely depraved. With Kat beside him he sets out to build alliances across the Districts, and finds sabotage waiting everywhere he turns while the kingdoms beyond the Underground come apart.
At around eight hundred pages, it is a long, character-driven close to the series, resolving the arcs of a wide cast rather than a single couple.
