Synopsis

Jessica Mitford, the sixth child of eccentric English aristocrats, recounts her unconventional upbringing and early marriage. This lively memoir explores her rebellion against her 'U' background, her sisters' notorious lives, and her adventures with her husband, Esmond Romilly, a nephew of Winston Churchill. From shoplifting as a child to fighting for Loyalists in Spain and navigating life in London and America, Mitford offers a rollicking account of a life lived on her own terms.
