Das blaue Mädchen

Das blaue Mädchen
Synopsis
"Das blaue Mädchen" is a standalone young-adult novel by German author Monika Feth, first published by Bertelsmann in 2001/2002.
Jana has grown up inside "Kinder des Mondes" (Children of the Moon), an isolated sect into which her mother brought her as a child. For years she has known no other way of life. But as she gets older, the contradictions in the sect's closed, controlling worldview become harder to ignore, and Jana begins to question everything she has been taught.
The novel traces her gradual disillusionment and eventual break from the group, examining manipulation, isolation, and the difficulty of leaving behind the only community one has ever known. It is aimed at readers from around age twelve and up.
