Synopsis

Dark Restraint is the seventh book in Katee Robert's bestselling Dark Olympus series, a contemporary retelling of Greek mythology set in the crime-ruled city of Olympus. Having betrayed her father and his dangerous benefactor, Ariadne Vitalis has nowhere left to turn but the uncertain protection of Olympus's ruling houses — protection that comes at the cost of a sham marriage to Dionysus. It is not Dionysus she wants, though: it's the Minotaur, a man she has always desired as fiercely as she has feared him, and who has no intention of letting another man claim her.

Published by Sourcebooks Casablanca in August 2024, the novel leans further into the series' political intrigue and family drama than its predecessors, pairing a gruff, possessive love interest and a marriage-of-convenience premise with higher-stakes plotting around the Olympian power struggle. Readers should expect the series' signature dark romance elements, including dubious consent and violence, alongside its retelling of the Ariadne-and-the-Minotaur myth.
