Frequently asked questions

  • Is Dark Legend a standalone story?

Dark Legend is the first book in the Carpathian series, introducing the core mythology and characters. While it establishes the world, each book in the series generally focuses on a different couple's romance and can be read somewhat independently for plot, though character arcs and world-building develop across the series.

  • How does Dark Legend compare to Christine Feehan's other series?

This book sets the tone for Feehan's signature blend of paranormal romance, featuring powerful, ancient male protagonists and strong, often psychically gifted female leads. Readers familiar with her Ghostwalker or Leopard People series will recognize the intense emotional connection and fated mates trope, but the Carpathian series has a distinct focus on ancient vampiric lore and the struggle for redemption.
