Dark Champion closes Eva Chase's Flirting with Monsters quartet. Sorsha — thief, smart mouth, and reluctant centre of a great deal of supernatural attention — has spent three books entangled with the shadowkind, monsters whose morality runs on rules of their own making rather than on anyone else's.

Here the Sphinx's design finally comes into view, and it does not spare either species. Sorsha and the men she has collected along the way have to work out what they are willing to lose to stop it, and what they have become to each other in the meantime.

This is a why-choose paranormal romance: the reverse-harem structure holds, the heat is high, and the plot resolves the arc that began in Shadow Thief. Start at the beginning of the series — the finale assumes you did.
