This was my first Liv Zander book, and I wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I did.
I’ve tried getting into fantasy a few times before and nearly DNF’d every one of them, so I honestly thought it just wasn’t for me. Apparently I just needed to read dark fantasy.
The mystery had me constantly second-guessing everything, and the gore was just enough to make it uncomfortable without feeling overdone. The plot was genuinely unhinged in the best way.
I got attached to the characters so quickly, but I never felt like I could fully trust any of them, which made every reveal hit even harder.
Safe to say I’ll be reading more from Liv Zander after this.
