Mathias Énard
Mathias Énard (born January 11, 1972, in Niort, France) is a French novelist and translator. He studied Persian and Arabic at the Institut National des Langues et Civilisations Orientales in Paris and lived for extended periods in the Middle East, including Syria and Lebanon, before settling in Barcelona, where he taught Arabic at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
