Synopsis

Dane Hollister, nicknamed "Danger", is an alpine ski champion who keeps women at a distance. He carries faulty DNA that will eventually take his place on the US Ski team, his endorsements and the ability to race downhill at 90mph. In his view, no woman would marry a man with that future.

Willow Reade has moved to rural Vermont to live closer to the land. She did not plan on spending a night in her vehicle during a blizzard. The ski racer she nearly drove off the road turns out to have granola bars and a sleeping bag, and he offers both.

The cramped quarters and the snow lead the two of them well past conversation. This is a contemporary romance with a sexual relationship that begins on impulse, between strangers who were thrown together by weather.

The attraction brings trouble with it. It stirs up the secret Dane has kept buried, and it tests the fragile peace Willow has made with her own choices. Whether they can trust each other and be brave enough to stop the pain decides if they get a chance at a happiness that has to be earned.
