Synopsis

John Wilkins experiences blackouts, is unhappily married, and struggles with his work, all while harboring romantic fantasies about a local librarian. When she is found murdered, Wilkins becomes the prime suspect. A rising defense attorney and a private detective work to uncover the truth as the trial unfolds, revealing damaging evidence and leading to an ingenious double-play finale.
