Synopsis

In Ben Bova's Colony, Earth has been poisoned by pollution, overpopulation and corporate greed, and a fragile peace teeters on the edge of global anarchy. Island One is a space-colony utopia orbiting above it, and David Adams — its first genetically engineered "test tube" child, grown to physical and mental perfection — has spent his whole life a prisoner of the colony that created him. When he finally leaves for Earth, he falls in with the People's Revolutionary Underground and its charismatic leader Scheherazade, and must decide whether to help the revolution or protect the home he was engineered to serve.
