What a ride!
Bro, I was not expecting it to be this good.
I anticipated gore, darkness, mayhem. Instead, I was greeted with character development, grief exploration, good old-fashioned hunt across state lines, gore, darkness and mayhem.
The vampire picks up a guy at the gas station and I assume there will be blood because the scene is ripe for slaughter. Couple of pages in & now I'm reading a thorough flashback of this vampire guy's life set in 1910. Excuse me?! What? 😳
I take immeasurable pride in being a hater. If I don't like something or someone, I'll stand on business. This single minded zeal has served as fuel on more than 1 occasion to keep me going but then, this 13 year old girl Julia comes along and jettisons my archaic definitions, giving a brand new meaning to the entire thing.
Also, yes. Why haven't I read any Vampire novel set in Alaska yet?
It's a natural battleground. Imagine the polar night and a town infested with Vampires. No defenses. No sun. Just bone chilling cold & the smell of blood in the air. inhales deeply Beautiful!
