Synopsis

Sarah McAdams has come back to Stewart's Crossing on the Columbia River to renovate the Victorian house she grew up in and start over with her two daughters, Jade and Gracie. The house was never a happy one: a cold mother, a half-sister who vanished, and a night Sarah cannot fully remember, when she was found delirious on the widow's walk.

The mansion has always carried rumours — an owner who fell to her death a century ago, a ghost on the staircase. Gracie says she has seen her. Then teenage girls in town begin to disappear, one after another, and the past Sarah returned to bury starts pulling her under.

Lisa Jackson blends gothic haunted-house atmosphere with a serial-abduction suspense plot in this standalone thriller.
