Clock House Murders

A team from the paranormal magazine CHAOS travels to investigate the Clock House, another of architect Nakamura Seiji's bizarre, unsettling mansions — this one rumored to be haunted. When a murder occurs and the team finds themselves locked inside, detective Shimada Kiyoshi is left to unravel the impossible crime entirely from beyond the house's walls.

Yukito Ayatsuji, a foundational figure in Japan's shin honkaku "new orthodox" detective fiction movement, builds a fair-play locked-room mystery around a trick considered one of the series' most ingenious, newly translated into English by Ho-Ling Wong.
