Madeline Miller's writing is so beautiful and the characters she creates feel so incredibly real. I loved seeing Circe grow through all of the stages of her life. I loved seeing her find herself and become an independent woman. The other characters seem just as real and you feel them change as Circe's perspective does.

I honest to god just want Madeline to narrate all Greek mythology.

This was a really slow burn for me. Up to almost 75% of the way through I was still wondering what all the hype was about. Sure it was good, and I never considered not finishing, but I didn't see why it had garnered such praise. Then things started to click and the last quarter was great.

Perhaps it's on me. The vast amounts of time this epic spanned was difficult for me to follow, and it seemed to bounce in and out of storylines. Nevertheless, I quite enjoyed the read.
